It is rare occurrence when the case of a missing black woman makes national headlines. And even rarer when that missing black woman is a lesbian.
From CBS News Crimesider blog: A woman who was arrested at a Malibu, Calif. restaurant went missing after she was released hours later from a sheriff’s station, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Mitrice Richardson, 24, an honor student & beauty contestant was reportedly unable to pay her $89 bill at Geoffrey’s restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu about 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, the newspaper reported.
Deputies arrested Richardson at the Malibu-Lost Hills station, where they booked her on suspicion of not paying for the meal and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told the Los Angeles Times.
She was released about 1:25 a.m. the next day, he said.
“She exhibited no signs of mental illness or intoxication,” said Whitmore, explaining why she was released. “She was fine. She’s an adult.”
According to her mother, Latice Sutton, a manager she spoke to at Geoffrey’s said Richardson appeared to be in “no condition to drive.”
Sutton told the newspaper that she called the Malibu-Lost Hills station to ask about posting bail and picking up her daughter, but deputies told her they had released her because they did not have room to keep her in jail.
“They allowed her to walk out of that facility and down that road in the pitch black night,” Richardson’s father, Michael, told the Times. “That’s not right. Now, I just want to find my child.”
The woman’s mother said deputies told her nearby residents had called to say a woman was sleeping on porches, indicating to her that Richardson was stumbling around a nearby residential neighborhood early Friday, the Times reported.
Richardson is African-American, 5-foot-5-inches and approximately 135 pounds. She has brown, curly hair and hazel eyes, and was last seen wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans, police said. According to a flyer made by her family, Richardson has tattoos on her lower abdomen and behind her neck.
Police asked anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at (213) 485-5381, or 1-877-LAPD-24-7 after business hours or on weekends.
A massive search effort for Mitrice Richardson continued over the weekend on the ground and in the air. Search teams with rescue dogs and on horse back combed the rugged terrain near Malibu.
“We are searching about a 60 to 80 square mile area and we’re searching basically from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff station onward to Malibu itself.”
That Malibu sheriff’s station is the last place Richardson was seen and where her parents are laying the blame for her disappearance.
“There was nothing protecting her when they allowed her to walk out that door based on policy and procedure,” said her mother.
Ratings for Tiny and Toya’s reality TV show on BET were so good that they earned the title #1 original series in BET history. Tiny & Toya has been green lighted for a second season and cameras will follow Tiny’s group the OMG Girlz and the eventual release of Tiny’s man T.I. from prison at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
The OMG Girlz performed in Fort Wayne, Indiana. over the weekend. This was the 1st out of town show for the OMG GIRLZ and the promoter Richie Rich went all out. They did billboards and radio and had the largest limo ever. Over 800 kids came out.
Tiny and Toya are really doing a great job with the goup along with Kiesha the manager. Richie Rich has done alot of shows in Indiana and he does a good job helping new acts get great exposure. He gave Soulja Boy one of his 1st shows wayyyyy before the deal and look at him now. OMG GIRLZ are on there way to the top. The kids really had a good time in Fort Wayne.
NBA Cleveland Cavs star LeBron James and Nike hosted a celebrity basketball game at Hollywood & Highland Courtyard in Hollywood over the weekend. Sean Combs and his kids Quincy Brown and Christian Combs. Comedian/actor Chris Tucker attended the celebrity basketball game with his son. Singer Chris Brown took time off from doing hard labor in Virgina to attend the event. Director Benny Boom brought his kids out. Don’t believe the rumors that Boom is the biological father of Jay Z’s illegitimate son. Those rumors are false. Struggling R&B singer Omarion showed up. Attention whore Raz B, formerly of B2K, couldn’t resist the chance to show out on the red carpet. Actor Terry Crews showed off his six pack & actor Brian White and his mom enjoyed the game.
Beyonce showed out something terrible in Singapore this past weekend. She must have been PMSing, according to ContactMusic, which said Beyonce had A-list actress Lindsay Lohan tossed out of her own dressing room so she could have it.
And she also made the poor stage hands and crew sweat it out in 90 degree temps backstage because Bey’s entourage commandeered the only fans for her. What an evil heifer.
Beyonce Knowles reportedly had Lindsay Lohan thrown out of her own dressing room because the singer wanted it for herself.
The former Destiny’s Child star was performing at the F1 Rocks concert in Singapore over the weekend and had ordered her entourage to get her the largest dressing area backstage.
However, Lindsay – who was hosting the event for British TV network Channel 4 – had already claimed the room for herself as she arrived before and was left upset when she was told she would have to vacate it.
In the lead up to her performance, Beyonce made her support acts sweat as she wouldn’t allow them to use her air conditioning.
Although temperatures backstage approached 90 degrees and people were passing out, Beyonce’s entourage refused to switch on her personal air cooling fans as they were just for her.
British DJ Seb Fontaine – who suffered heatstroke – told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “We were told, ‘No they are Beyonce’s fans.’ I wasn’t asking to play her drum kit on stage. I just wanted to keep cool.”
In her 139-page rider, Beyonce also demanded six beauty chambers, fitness equipment, an authentic fruit platter and tea and honey.
