19 year old Rodney Bradford was accused of armed robbery in Brooklyn, but let out of jail because he was updating his status on Facebook at the same time the crime took place at his father’s apartment in  Harlem.

Rodney spent days on Rikers Island after witnesses picked him out of a line up and may have never gotten out if it wasn’t for his Internet alibi. After pleading his case to Detectives it was obvious that there is no way the defendant could have updated is status and committed a robbery 13 miles away at the same time. All Rodney could say was, “Thank you Facebook”.

Many critics say this is not a useful alibi because someone could have easily logged on as him and updated for him. This could be true but with this internet documentation as well as a house full of alibi’s it’s hard to say he was there.

With all the people going to jail behind things they do on the internet it’s cool to see someone get out from using it. lol

“Fair and Balanced” Fox News has made one of the most outrageous destructive claims of their time this week by reporting that Kanye West died in an automobile crash on Tuesday. They even report that alcohol may have played a role. This is absolutely untrue and Rupert Murdoch should be heavily fined for letting his company put out such a claim. Everyone knows Fox is a racist (Yea I said racist) news station but killing a man off without any regard for the facts or truth is deplorable.

When is enough enough. We already had TMZ kill off Maya Angelou now Fox killing Ye? We really need to put pressure on the FCC to fine Fox for putting out such blatantly false information.

Kanye West has expressed humility and gratitude after his seminal debut College Dropout was named Album of the Decade by Entertainment Weekly.

Released in 2004, College Dropout was an immediate success, placing #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart and winning the Grammy for Best Rap Album.

Looking back, Kanye explained that he realized his vision would cause a mainstream shift away from the gangsta rap sound popularized by 50 Cent in the early 2000s.

“Wow, this is really flattering. I’ve had some ups and downs this year, we’ll actually this decade. Just seeing this cover takes me back to that time of my life,” Kanye reflected. “I remember how much pain and love went into this album. No one saw it coming. This project wasn’t about me, it was about a time in people’s lives where people force opinions on you and you have to make choices for yourself. We loved 50 Cent but we wanted to be the yang. We wanted to wear pink polos and rap about being hurt on this album everyday.”

Entertainment Weekly’s Album of Decade honor places the project above several other Hip-Hop albums on the list, including Outkast’s The Love Below/Speakerboxxx, 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, and Jay-Z’s Blueprint.

“I was most inspired by The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and I listened to that album everyday while working on my debut,” West revealed. “Thank you for the acknowledgement and for putting Blueprint on the list also. I loved The Love Below and Get Rich or Die Tryin’, also. They equally deserved the number one spot in my eyes but there can only be one number one!”

 ”America’s Best Dance Crew” judge Shane Sparks is being detained by LA authorities facing charges for child molestation and statutory rape. Sparks is facing nine counts of molestation for allegedly sleeping with a minor that was ten years younger than him. Check out the exact story,

“The alleged incidents began occurring in 1994 and continued for several years. According to the criminal complaint Shane allegedly committed the crimes of lewd acts upon a child — all felonies. There is only one alleged victim.
The lewd acts include oral copulation and other acts “with the intent of arousing, appealing to, and gratifying the lust, passions, and sexual desires of the defendant, who was at least 10 years older than [the victim].”

Sparks is being held on $590,000 bail and you better believe if convicted his dance instructing days are over. According to the LA DA’s office,

The victim was allegedly 14/15 yrs old at the time of the crime in 1994. I think the confusion was because Shane has claimed to be younger than he is. He was actually born in 1969, so he’s 40 years old now.

This is sick and I knew there was something I disliked about him. If it’s true I hope justice prevails.

Tyra Banks is ending her daytime TV talk show.

The supermodel-turned-TV-mogul told People that she will wrap up her talk show at the end of its current season – its fifth — this coming spring.

“This will be the last season of ‘The Tyra Show,’” Tyra told the mag. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms [and] hair salons for the past five years.”

Instead of sitting down to talk to guests on a daily basis, Tyra will shift her focus to Bankable Studios, a film production company based in New York. The mag reported that the company is taking a look at potential projects to produce.

“My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are,” Tyra said.

Like her television show, Bankable will seek to bring “positive images of women to the big screen,” a source told the mag. And Tyra hopes to have Bankable work on “redefining beauty for women in film,” the source added.

“With Oprah’s big announcement this year, I think that gave Tyra the confidence to get out there and follow her longtime dream of film producing,” the source said, referencing Oprah’s news that she will leave “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in September 2011 to concentrate on OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Tyra will stay committed, however, to her longtime reality competition, “America’s Next Top Model,” which recently crowned its first petite model winner, Nicole Fox. The show will return in 2010 with its 14th season.

Distributors 20th Century Fox say it has earned more than $350m (£217m) in the US and more than $670m (415m) in the rest of the world in only 17 days.

The 3D science fiction blockbuster was directed by James Cameron, who also made Titanic, the best selling movie of all time.

The latest figures make Avatar already the fourth-biggest film ever made.

Ahead of it are Titanic ($1.8bn; £1.1bn), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.12bn; £695m) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($1.07bn; £664m).

Avatar – about a disabled marine who infiltrates a race of giant blue aliens – combines live action with digitally-enhanced performances.

It was reportedly the most expensive film ever made, with a budget of at least $300m (£186m).

“This is like a freight train out of control,” said 20th Century Fox distribution executive Bert Livingston. “It just keeps on going.”

“I think everybody has to see Avatar once, even people who don’t normally go to the movies, they’ve heard about it and are saying, ‘I have to see it’,” he said. “Then there are those people seeing it multiple times.”

Avatar has now reached most parts of the globe. It opened in China on Saturday and is due to reach Italy – its final market – on 15 January.

The huge box office takings are partly down to the higher cost of tickets for 3D performances, says the BBC’s Peter Bowes in Los Angeles.

But with Hollywood entering its traditional slow season, with few big films due for release, Avatar is likely to dominate the box office for several more weeks, he adds.
